Blue Dragon, Made in England and Frankenstein

I’ve just composed the music for a series of 5 TV ads for Blue Dragon, which are on air in the UK currently. Here is one of the five;

I’m also in the middle of composing a 30 min documentary for Century Films called Made in England which will be broadcast on Channel 4 mid Feb 2011.

Last but certainly not least I’m working with electro duo Underworld on the sound and music to Danny Boyle’s Frankenstein opening at the National Theatre early Feb 2011.

Part of this season will show Hamlet, directed by Nicholas Hytner, which I have written the music to, and will be broadcast on 9th December 2010.

Earthquakes in London NT Trailer

The National Theatre have just released this trailer for Earthquakes in London presently showing in the Cottesloe.. the music is some of my early musical ideas for the show which are now cut, but they’ve come in useful….

We’re currently in previews with press night on August 4th 2010.

News 19/06/2010

Rehearsals are well underway at the Royal National Theatre where I’m doing the music for Earthquakes in London directed by Rupert Goold in a co-production with Headlong Theatre. Previews start in July at the Cottesloe with a run throughout August and September – advance tickets have already sold out but more dates will be added soon.

I’ve also written two pieces for the Out of the Piano concert at the Cochrane Theatre in Holburn on 20th June – I’m honoured to be working with two wonderful vocalists (and Musical Theatre royalty!), Rebecca Caine and Valerie Cutko. After the concert I am hoping to put some studio recordings of the pieces up onto this site.

In other news I’ve yet again been working on a series of quirky pieces for high street giant Lush, again I hope to put some examples in my audio section soon.

Last but not least I’ve been working on short film Grow, which will be out later this year.

Doritos “Taste The Passion”

Working with Love Love Films and Perception Pictures, I composed this entry for the Doritos “King Of Ads” 2010. Directed by Anit Bashar and Produced by Georgina Hurcombe.

I’ve recently composed the score to the National Theatre’s next cinema promo for The Habit of Art by Alan Bennett. The five-star sell out play is being broadcast to cinemas live around the world on 22nd April 2010 as part of it’s hugely successful NT Live season. It stars Richard Griffiths and Alex Jennings.

NT Live cinema trailer for Royal National Theatre

_

I’ve just composed the music / sound design for a 60 sec global cinema promo for NT Live, promoting the National Theatre’s live broadcast of “Nation” to cinemas around the world in Jan 2010. Will be shown in participating cinemas from Christmas to Jan 30th. It was mixed in 5.1 surround at Jungle, Soho and narrated by John Shrapnel.

(* The film contains a sample of Adrian Sutton’s “Nation Choir” which was used in the show, playing now at the Royal National Theatre until March 2010)

A Lush Christmas…

I’ve written the music to some online virals for highstreet giant Lush in time for Christmas. Inspired by traditional Japanese furoshiki wrapping, the music is a tongue-in-cheek Japanese homage to a well loved European Christmas Carol…
