After so many people have asked over the last couple of years since McCullin was released, I have produced a very limited run of CD’s of my music score (previously only available as a digital iTunes download). These can be purchased from my Bandcamp site by clicking here (or alternatively email via the contact page).
The music won a Music + Sound Award for Best Feature Film Score in 2014, and a version of “Biafra” featured on violinist Daniel Hope’s Spheres album for Deutsche Grammophon which reached no 1 in the UK and no 3 in the US Classical Billboard charts. It also featured on Classic FM’s Chillout album. The film was also nominated for two BAFTA’s including Best Documentary and Outstanding Debut.
The CD case is made of thick cardboard and each is numbered and signed.
The follow up film, Attacking The Devil, which I have also scored, was the recent winner of Sheffield Documentary Festival and will be released in cinemas later in 2015.

Very pleased that the album on which I collaborated on with virtuoso violinist Daniel Hope (two pieces Musica Universalis and Biafra) along with Max Richter, Ludovico Einaudi and Gabriel Prokofiev, is now to be released on vinyl by Deutsche Grammophon. Already reaching number 1 in the UK and number 3 in the US Classical charts on CD and downloads, it is exciting to have the release on vinyl (a medium that I absolutely love). For more information and to pre-order, click here.
The piece Biafra is taken from my award winning score to BAFTA nominated feature film McCullin. To purchase the album from iTunes, link here.
Below is Musica Universalis as performed by Daniel at the recording sessions in Berlin.

Very proud that the film I’m composing for, Attacking the Devil, directed by Jacqui Morris, has just won the prestigious Special Jury Prize at Sheffield Documentary Festival. The team behind the film were also behind last years’ twice BAFTA nominated McCullin including director Jacqui, editor David Fairhead and producer Steve Milne of the British Film Company.
Attacking The Devil: Harold Evans and the Last Nazi War Crime is a documentary about Harold Evans, the former editor of The Sunday Times – and his investigation into the drug thalidomide which left 10,000 babies with deformities in the 1950s and ’60s.
The film is not quite finished, with the score to be recorded with an orchestra over the coming months. I’ll be putting snippets up closer to the film release..

Very happy that Wieden + Kennedy have won a Cannes Lion Silver Award for their film The Cook (see below) for Lurpak, for which I composed and arranged the music recorded at Abbey Road Studio with the London Metropolitan Orchestra and Choir earlier this year.
Back in London, the reviews have come in for The Cripple of Inishmaan directed by Michael Grandage in the West End, with some 5 star reviews including this from the Telegraph (here) and this from the New York Times (here) – the second time Ben Brantley has mentioned my music this month (the other one being Cornelius which is presently showing in New York).
Alex Baranowski’s evocative music set the scene without being as overbearing as much music in drama has become lately – here is a composer who understands theatre. (Broadway World).
The show stars Daniel Radcliffe and is on at the Noel Coward Theatre in London’s West End until August 2013. Watch the trailer below (with some snippets of the music);
Finally, I’ve been working on the latest series of TV commercials for UK supermarket Waitrose – with a number of films being broadcast in the last few months including this one below.. the music has been rather popular, with numerous people asking if I’m going to release the full piece (alas not!).

Very pleased that McCullin has been nominated for Best Documentary and Outstanding Debut at the 2013 BAFTA Film awards. After great reviews across the board and the BBC’s Mark Kermode’s film of the week, it’s been a great start to 2013. Keeping fingers crossed for 10th Feb….
My soundtrack for the film will be released on iTunes etc in the coming week – feel free to sign up to my info list here and I’ll let you know when it’s released and send some free music to download too…. in the mean time head over to the soundtrack mini site mccullinsoundtrack.com.

Very pleased that distributers Artificial Eye will be releasing McCullin in cinemas on 1st January across the UK, for which I composed the music. Watch the trailer below. The digital soundtrack will be out very soon (find the mini-site for that here), with CD release in the following months. The score features the talents of Peter Gregson (cello), James Underwood (violin), Dominik Johnson (ronroco, mandola), the Iskra String Quartet, and a special bonus track recorded by world renowned soloist Daniel Hope.
